Parassala: In a deeply spiritual and grace-filled celebration, the Eparchy of Parassala rejoiced as two young men wholeheartedly responded to God's call to serve the Church. On the serene morning of Friday, May 16, 2025, at 7:00 AM, the sacred ordination to the full order of deaconate was conferred upon Br. Akhil Peeter from Shalom Bhavan and Br. Joby Joseph from Puthenveedu. The liturgical celebration took place at Snehadeepam Minor Seminary, marked by solemnity, prayer, and profound joy.
The ordination rite was led by His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius, the Bishop of the Eparchy of Parassala, who was the chief celebrant. Through the laying on of hands and the invocation of the Holy Spirit, the two brothers were consecrated and entrusted with the sacred responsibilities of the diaconal ministry.
The presence of the Very Rev. Fr. Jose Konnathuvila, Vicar General of the Eparchy, added significance to the occasion. Joining him were the deacons’ parish priests, several priests of the Eparchy, religious sisters, seminarians, and a large gathering of the faithful, including the deacons’ parents, siblings, and relatives—all united in prayer and thanksgiving.
The liturgy was a powerful reminder of the Church’s mission to nurture vocations and send forth servants to proclaim the Gospel and serve the People of God. The new deacons, filled with zeal and devotion, stood at the altar with reverence, ready to embrace a life of sacrificial love, humility, and obedience.
Meticulous preparations for the ordination and liturgical celebration were carried out under the guidance of the Rector of the Minor Seminary, Rev. Fr. Aloysius Thunduthattu, and the Vice Rector, Rev. Fr. Anit Francis Mullassery. Their efforts ensured a prayerful atmosphere that reflected the beauty and solemnity of the occasion.
As the Church witnessed this joyful milestone, the faithful offered their heartfelt prayers and blessings for the newly ordained deacons, that they may continue to grow in holiness and fidelity, serving the Lord with joyful hearts and unwavering commitment.
