The Snehadeepam Minor Seminary was started on 14th June 2018, just a few months after the establishment of the Diocese of Parassala. The seminary is dedicated to the revered memory of His Grace Benedict Mar Gregorios, the second Metropolitan Archbishop of Trivandrum, whose motto was 'Sneham mama deepam'. The Patron Saint of the seminary is St. Gregory of Naziansus. The seminary started functioning in a provisional building at Ponneduthakuzhy. The first Rector was Rev. Dr. Thomas Kulangara and there were 14 students in the first batch. On 15 July, 2018, on the Memorial Day of Servant of God Mar Ivanios, the foundation stone for the new seminary building was blessed by His Eminence Reiner Cardinal Woelki, Archbishop of Koeln at the Headquarters of the Diocese of Parassala at Kudayal. The foundation stone of the seminary was laid by His Excellency Most Rev. Thomas Mar Eusebius, Bishop of Parassala on 14th October, 2018,the Memorial Day of His Grace Benedict Mar Gregorios. On 28 June, 2020 the new seminary was blessed by His Beatitude Baselios Cardinal Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Malankara Catholic Church and by His Excellency Thomas Mar Eusebius.
