“Rabboni 2026” Teachers’ Gathering Conducted with Devotional Fervour

The annual gathering of the Sunday School teachers engaged in the ministry of Faith Formation in the Parassala Eparchy, titled “Rabboni 2026,” commenced on may 9th Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with registration. The programme was held at St. George Catholic Pilgrim Church, Charottukonam, and was formally inaugurated at 9:00 a.m. by the Vicar General of the Eparchy, Monsignor Jose Konathuvila.

Mrs. Beena rendered the prayer hymn during the inaugural session. Executive members Mr. Sijo and Mr. Manivarnan led the Scripture reading and opening prayer respectively. Thereafter, the Eparchial Secretary, Mr. Vincent P., administered the Teachers’ Oath.
Rev. Fr. Varghese Naduthala, Director of the Sunday School Department of the Eparchy, welcomed the gathering. In his inaugural address, Monsignor Jose Konathuvila exhorted the teachers to carry out their ministry with deep commitment and spiritual responsibility, emphasizing the importance of guiding students towards authentic faith formation through their teaching mission.
The teachers’ seminar held during the day was led by Rev. Fr. Joshy Mayyatil, former Chairman of the P.O.C. Bible Revision Committee. His sessions offered profound insights into the biblical and spiritual dimensions of catechetical ministry, inspiring the teachers in their apostolic service.
The valedictory gathering commenced at 3:00 p.m. with a welcome address by Rev. Fr. Varghese Naduthala. The programme was presided over by His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius , Bishop of the Parassala Eparchy, who delivered the benedictory address.
In his message, the Bishop specially appreciated the annual coming together of teachers from all the parishes of the Eparchy, noting that such gatherings strengthen ecclesial communion and foster unity among the members of the Eparchy. He also reminded the teachers that their selfless service in the ministry of faith formation is a priceless treasure stored in heaven.
On the occasion, the results of the Final Examinations conducted at the Eparchial level for Classes 10, 12, and Third Degree Year during the academic year 2025–26 were officially released, and the rank holders were announced. The results of the Scholarship Examination for students who secured first, second, and third positions were also declared. In addition, the results of the diary evaluations for students and teachers were published.
Sunday School textbooks and diaries were distributed to the parishes that had completed prior registration.
A special moment of the gathering was the felicitation of 29 teachers who completed 25 years of dedicated service in Sunday School ministry. His Excellency the Bishop honoured them with shawls and presented mementoes in recognition of their faithful and longstanding service to the Church.
Certificates were distributed to all teachers who participated in the gathering.
Mr. Vincent P., Eparchial Secretary, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to His Excellency Thomas Mar Yausebios, the clergy, religious, distinguished guests, and all the teachers who participated in the programme.
The gathering concluded at 4:00 p.m. with the final blessing imparted by His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius.
